Now it is a tendency that LED UV lamp curing is adopted normally by the printing companies. Because

1) The power is much lower and the price is cheap than that of conventional UV mercury lamp, that saves money. Power of LED lamp is about 400 w, while the power of mercury lamp is 1.8-5 kw.

2) The lifetime of LED lamp is too long up to 8000 hours, mercury lamp’s lifetime is 800 hours. Mercury lamp is a consumable.

3) Ultraviolet of mercury lamp is harmful to skin, but LED lamp without mercury harmness to skin.

4) Conventional UV mercury lamp needs several minutes for pre-heating, but LED doesn't need. If the electric power is OFF and ON suddenly, it is harmful to UV mercury lamp and reduce its lifetime. While LED lamp has no harmness. So LED lamp is the best choice.

13. What is four-colour process or the CMYK colour model?

Four-colour process is when the artwork is created and then separated into four colours (CMYK) which combine to create the full spectrum of colours needed for photographic prints. This means a large number of colours can be simulated using only 4 screens, reducing costs, time, and set-up. The inks are required to blend and are more translucent, meaning a compromise with vibrancy of colour.
